Wedding at the Grand Del Mar
June 25, 2009
This past weekend I second shot with Cary Pennington at the Grand Del Mar Resort. This was such a sweet spot for a reception! And Maureen and Gino were such a cool couple, with a defined style all their own . I couldn’t help but post a bunch of my favorites.

Gino, wanting to bring his Italian family traditions into their big day, chose the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Little Italy for their ceremony.

And of course since pets are people too – Maureen just had to bring her kids to the reception for just a few photos … and talk about a face that makes a statement.

Flowers were designed by Lavonne from Adorations Botanical Artistry. For more info about flowers, visit www.adorations.com. (She also designed the florals from the last wedding I shot with Cary back in April.) And this event might not have been possible with out the always busy, Red Letter Days event planners.

Gino described his beautiful bride as hotter than Veronica Lake … Best wishes to them both!

Danyel & Chris at Wind and Sea Beach
These two are such a nice compliment to each other! Worried about the weather … this couple trekked it down from LA for the weekend to finalize more of their August 15th wedding day plans. But as they say in SoCal, ‘no worries’. We had a fantastic skyline, as you are about to see, at one of my favorite (and somewhat hidden to nonresidents) beach – Wind and Sea. This beach is ever changing from one day to the next. You can really get a glimpse into the power of how the ocean can really shape the beach. Some days the beach is barely there – and climbing along the rocks is a must. But for Sunday’s session, the waves have sculpted the sand away from it’s rock formations . - Rocks by the way I have never seen before now. So check out Chris & Danyel (and her natural wind-blown hollywood hair)

Melissa & Tyson Tie the Knot!
I had the pleasure last weekend to work with photographer & good friend, Sean Schofield of SeanLoringSchofield.com It’s been awhile since we photographed a wedding together – but as usual the time flew by. So without further ado, let me introduce you to bride, Melissa & her husband, Tyson. What a photogenic couple! Th wedding event took place at the Grand Tradition – the food was yummy, the music was great and the guests were a blast!

Special hello to florist – Alison of Alison’s Artistic Floral. It has been over a year since Alison & I have a had a chance to work together again. Her business has grown so much in that short time – from just Alison to a whole staff of helpers. More information about this vendor can be seen at www.alisonsartisticfloral.com
Visit to the Wild Animal Park
I had a chance to visit the Wild Animal Park for a few hours when I was in Escondido at the beginning of this month. So I thought I would share a few of my favorite shots.

Ralph the Cat
I just love this photo of Ralph so I thought I’d share.

Making the News Again!
June 11, 2009
If you are regular visitor to the Blog, then you may remember Kim and Noe. We had a great session a few weeks ago to celebrate their first anniversary & to welcome in their newest addition to their family – their daughter, Ilyanna. And what a sweet, happy baby! She couldn’t be any cuter! And since they were in San Diego only for the weekend, visiting from Las Vegas, we decided to invite the extended family along too. So without further ado…

Liz & Mike get married!
May 30, 2009
Ok so I am still getting caught up with this month’s images… almost there.
So here is Mike & his wife, Elizabeth! Other than the May grey, this ceremony went off without a hitch! After enjoying a relaxing morning, Liz & Mike met on South Beach in Coronado to say, “I Do”. This joyous event was organized by coordinator, Jacquelyn Mendoza of Carefree Events.

Julie & Andrew 5/9/09
May 28, 2009
Ok so I have fallen a little behind on my blog recently… but I have some fantastic couples to tell you about. So to get started … here are Julie & Andrew! Just married on May 9th! This was such a sweet little ceremony on South Beach in Coronado with close friends and family. Andrew and Julie are such a nice compliment to each other. Julie was all smiles and a few tears of joy. And Andrew was all about his beautiful bride. It was a real pleasure to be a part of their wedding day. I hope these images will take them back to this special moment each time they see them.

They rented this really cool antique car from Haynes Chauffering at www.lancedurant.com .

And their reception was followed by a very yummy italian dinner and some dancing at Old Venice Restaurant in Point Loma. www.oldvenicerestaurant.com

Lauren & Peter 4/26/09
May 18, 2009
OK so a few post ago I talked about my 3 wedding weekend – not something I usually do. But I’m glad I did! Meet Lauren & Peter! They were married at the Sheraton on Harbor Island. Lauren’s room was a great place to get some before images of her and the girls. Their ceremony was in this little private garden that the Sheraton has next to where the boats are docked. This was a beautiful and very simple ceremony filled with family and close friends … congratulations Lauren & Peter!

Walk For Hope 2009
May 12, 2009
This past weekend I volunteered my services for the City of Hope’s Breast Cancer Walk. It was great to see so many people come out to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. This is a cause that is dear to me. It’s great to see so many people supporting each other to find a cure.

You all may even recognize the event’s MC’s as San Diego’s own – Geena the Latina from 93.3 and Ruben from CW6 news.

So many walkers showed up in support! . . .

Even quite a few four-legged friends came out in support . Too cute!

Special thanks to volunteers! These were the Girl Scouts from Troop #3239, cheering on the walkers.

Survivors acknowledged

Keeping it Local
May 8, 2009
So I had a recent Portrait Session with Heather & Shane (last blog entry) . And I was a little early for our session so I thought I would start shooting anyway. So here are just a few images from around the neighborhood . . . well at least a block of the neighborhood. And then check out Heather & Shane’s Engagement Session afterwards (if you haven’t already).
