Diana & Daniel’s Wedding
April 30, 2009
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of 2nd shooting with photographer, Cary Pennington. I have worked with Cary many times before. But this was the first time for both of us shooting at the Prado in Balboa Park. And I also had the opportunity to finally work with coordinator/event planner, Suzanne Duffy of Crown Weddings. (www.crownweddings.com) And it what a nice surprise to see my friend & coordinator, Kelly Nicoletto, helping out Suzanne for the day! Another chance for us to work together again!
And this was a beautiful wedding! I started at the historic Sophia Hotel with Daniel & all the boys. And then off to the Prado for a gorgeous ceremony and an even more perfect reception. Diana & Daniel were renewing their wedding vows and had been together for over 10 years already. But it was clear that they were just as in love as the first time!

This might just be some of the best effort I have seen so far for the garter!

Bike Ride Around OB
April 25, 2009
So it was so nice out I decided to grab my camera and hop on my mountain bike to take a little ride around my neighborhood. The light was nice and I didn’t get very far before finding some great subjects. And in the end I think I rode about only 12 blocks round trip before heading back with a card full of images. So here I am inside again to post my little finds. So much for a long leisurely bike ride along the coast!

And this is what happens when you leave your bed unmade before going out. Someone else takes over .

Still love you Shay!
Carlsbad Flower Fields
April 22, 2009
Now that I’m almost caught up on events . . . I thought I’d post some more of my personal work. I few weeks ago I took half a day to visit the Carlsbad Flowers Fields. This was my first visit there. I found myself alittle disappointed that you cannot actually walk among the flowers – only around the field. So that was a bummer! But I did have fun trying to find my way out if the sweet pea maze. I actually had some help from a little 5 year old boy – who told me not not worry; he knew the way out. And he did! Otherwise I might still be wandering around. So thanks little guy!

Ashlee & Brian 4/4/09
April 22, 2009
Ashlee & Brian could not be a nicer couple! They have so much going on in their lives- new home, new baby & now they have officially become husband and wife. And what a beautiful day for a wedding! I am trying to stay on keep up with my new years resolution and blog regularly . . . so I just grabbed a few of my favorites of just the two of them:

Ashlee & Brian were married at Harbor Island Park with help from Carefree Weddings.
Stephanie & Jason’s Engagement 4/11/09
April 17, 2009
Congratulations you crazy kids! Stephanie & Jason got engaged! On one romantic night Jason & Stephanie stole away to the beach with a bottle of wine. Jason popped the question. Stephanie said ‘Yes!’ And the best is yet to come. I can only imagine that their families in Michigan didn’t mind waking up to their fantastic news in the middle of the night!
Stephanie & Jason – although they are no strangers to each other -were soo nervous for their first official photo shoot as an engaged couple. But they had nothing to fear . . . I promised I wouldn’t bite. And they seemed to relax a bit more. So we decided to start off with a little romance . .

And then we started to have a fun!

I can’t wait until their wedding day this fall! Stay tuned to see more of Stephanie & Jason until then . . .
Karin & Chris Tie the Knot 3/28/09
April 16, 2009
Karin & Chris were married March 28th 2009 at Harbor Island Park. Surrounded by their close family & friends, this was a beautiful ceremony . . . pulled together by Jacquelyn Mendoza of Carefree Events . . . and followed by a great reception at the Star of the Sea. This was my first time at this reception location. I was surprised by how nice it was to photograph in this room. (It’s right next to the Star of India in case you’ve never been there). And being on the water made for a beautiful view of the harbor.

And yeah! they smashed the cake. Now I know that’s not for every couple – the fork users, you know who you are – but from a photographers stand point I love to see a good cake smash. Way to go Karin! I say you won that round!
Jennifer & Jeremy
April 10, 2009
What a great session!! I had so much fun with Jennifer & Jeremy! These two have such nice chemistry together. (They are actually an eHarmony match! So maybe we will see them in a commercial someday.) Jennifer has a fantastic laugh & Jeremy was such a good sport – and did everything I asked to get a good image. And of course Wind & Sea beach is such a great spot for an engagement shoot. Everytime I go there it looks a little different depending on the tides. There were so many good little spots. I had such a hard time narrowing down my favorites. So I decided to post them all. I can’t wait until their wedding up in Malibu! Their location is going to be so beautiful. I won’t tell you where it is yet but you can visit their wedding website at www.mywedding.com/kissatree to find more information about their story & their wedding day plans.
