Wedding at the Grand Del Mar
June 25, 2009
This past weekend I second shot with Cary Pennington at the Grand Del Mar Resort. This was such a sweet spot for a reception! And Maureen and Gino were such a cool couple, with a defined style all their own . I couldn’t help but post a bunch of my favorites.

Gino, wanting to bring his Italian family traditions into their big day, chose the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Little Italy for their ceremony.

And of course since pets are people too – Maureen just had to bring her kids to the reception for just a few photos … and talk about a face that makes a statement.

Flowers were designed by Lavonne from Adorations Botanical Artistry. For more info about flowers, visit www.adorations.com. (She also designed the florals from the last wedding I shot with Cary back in April.) And this event might not have been possible with out the always busy, Red Letter Days event planners.

Gino described his beautiful bride as hotter than Veronica Lake … Best wishes to them both!

Danyel & Chris at Wind and Sea Beach
These two are such a nice compliment to each other! Worried about the weather … this couple trekked it down from LA for the weekend to finalize more of their August 15th wedding day plans. But as they say in SoCal, ‘no worries’. We had a fantastic skyline, as you are about to see, at one of my favorite (and somewhat hidden to nonresidents) beach – Wind and Sea. This beach is ever changing from one day to the next. You can really get a glimpse into the power of how the ocean can really shape the beach. Some days the beach is barely there – and climbing along the rocks is a must. But for Sunday’s session, the waves have sculpted the sand away from it’s rock formations . - Rocks by the way I have never seen before now. So check out Chris & Danyel (and her natural wind-blown hollywood hair)

Melissa & Tyson Tie the Knot!
I had the pleasure last weekend to work with photographer & good friend, Sean Schofield of SeanLoringSchofield.com It’s been awhile since we photographed a wedding together – but as usual the time flew by. So without further ado, let me introduce you to bride, Melissa & her husband, Tyson. What a photogenic couple! Th wedding event took place at the Grand Tradition – the food was yummy, the music was great and the guests were a blast!

Special hello to florist – Alison of Alison’s Artistic Floral. It has been over a year since Alison & I have a had a chance to work together again. Her business has grown so much in that short time – from just Alison to a whole staff of helpers. More information about this vendor can be seen at www.alisonsartisticfloral.com
Visit to the Wild Animal Park
I had a chance to visit the Wild Animal Park for a few hours when I was in Escondido at the beginning of this month. So I thought I would share a few of my favorite shots.

Ralph the Cat
I just love this photo of Ralph so I thought I’d share.

Julie & Andrew 5/9/09
May 28, 2009
Ok so I have fallen a little behind on my blog recently… but I have some fantastic couples to tell you about. So to get started … here are Julie & Andrew! Just married on May 9th! This was such a sweet little ceremony on South Beach in Coronado with close friends and family. Andrew and Julie are such a nice compliment to each other. Julie was all smiles and a few tears of joy. And Andrew was all about his beautiful bride. It was a real pleasure to be a part of their wedding day. I hope these images will take them back to this special moment each time they see them.

They rented this really cool antique car from Haynes Chauffering at www.lancedurant.com .

And their reception was followed by a very yummy italian dinner and some dancing at Old Venice Restaurant in Point Loma. www.oldvenicerestaurant.com

Diana & Daniel’s Wedding
April 30, 2009
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of 2nd shooting with photographer, Cary Pennington. I have worked with Cary many times before. But this was the first time for both of us shooting at the Prado in Balboa Park. And I also had the opportunity to finally work with coordinator/event planner, Suzanne Duffy of Crown Weddings. (www.crownweddings.com) And it what a nice surprise to see my friend & coordinator, Kelly Nicoletto, helping out Suzanne for the day! Another chance for us to work together again!
And this was a beautiful wedding! I started at the historic Sophia Hotel with Daniel & all the boys. And then off to the Prado for a gorgeous ceremony and an even more perfect reception. Diana & Daniel were renewing their wedding vows and had been together for over 10 years already. But it was clear that they were just as in love as the first time!

This might just be some of the best effort I have seen so far for the garter!

Laura & Brian’s Wedding 2/15/09
February 22, 2009
I had the pleasure of working with portrait photographer Michele Ehlers last weekend on Laura & Brian’s wedding. The wedding was great – the rain held off to give us some great overcast light. We met them at the Sheraton downtown, headed to Balboa Park & then on to the ceremony & reception at El Cortez.
Meet Brian:

And Laura:

And one day they met & fell in love . . .

And decided to celebrate that love with all their friends & family . . .
And they were so happy for Laura & Brian . . .

And their love grew . . .

So they decided to get married . . .

And Laura was a stunning bride . . .

And so they celebrated into the night . . .

I wish them a beautiful future together!
Michele was so great to work with! You can check out her work at www.micheleehlersphotography.com
Featured Vendor: Lesley Angel Makeup Artistry
September 16, 2008
A few months back I started a new category to my blog to highlight fantastic work done by my fellow wedding vendors. (FloraGlamor & coordinator, Kelly Nicoletto from my last posting) And I realized that I hadn’t mentioned Lesley from Sandy & TJ’s wedding on 6/20/08. So I thought I’d take this opportunity to mention what a nice job she did on Sandy & her mom’s makeup. Here are a few photos taken:
To view more of Lesley’s work please click on the image above. Or call her at 858-229-6161.
Wow – am I behind! A few weddings & a surprise party!
September 12, 2008
Hi Everyone! I can’t believe I’ve missed so many entries. I suppose the last few weeks of summer have just zoomed by. And I figured since it was such a gloomy morning here in Ocean Beach that now was as good a time as any to get caught up on my blog. (Little did I know how far behind I am ) Let’s see, since I wrote last there have been a few weddings, a surprise party on the east coast & a few personal portraits. So I think we should start maybe at most recent & work out way back. . . .
8/17/08 Tammy & Stephen’s Wedding
I was contacted, once again by destination coordinator, Jacquelyn from San Diego Destination Weddings to photograph Tammy & Stephen’s wedding ceremony at Bali Hai on Shelter Island. So here are a few of my favorite pics from that day . . .

And what a great little flair of late day color in the sky!

8/10/08 Kim & David’s Wedding Day
Featured Vendor : Kelly Nicoletto
You might remember them from their engagement session only a few short weeks before. Their wedding was very lovely (I guess that’s the word I’m looking for). They hired a fantastic coordinator, Kelly Nicoletto to basically design & coordinate their entire wedding day plans (I think she was in charge of just about everything except the location selection – she had her hands full – but did such a great job. Definite props to Kelly! I would love to work with her again! ) And this wedding had so many pretty little details. So here is quite a few of my favorite photos from David & Kim’s Wedding day . . .

8/02/08 Gina & Jacob’s Wedding
Gina & Jacob were happily married on the Coronado Shore – outside the Hotel Del. Unfortunately the weather was a bit on the gloomy side – but it was still a beautiful ceremony. And we had just enough light to play a bit in the sand & sea. . .

The ceremony was followed by an intimate dinner at the Del. And I just had to get a photograph of this cake – It was pretty cool looking don’t you think!
