Trash the Dress with Heather at Wind & Sea Beach

OK so this is more like a ‘Mess-the-Dress’ since we didn’t really ‘trash’ her dress.  But I was so excited when Heather said she wanted to do this session with me.  I feel like it was a perfect fit to round out their Engagement Session & Wedding Day shoots.  We went to Wind & Sea Beach in La Jolla. She looked fantastic – just as pretty as her wedding day. … See for yourself!

Making the News Again!

If you are regular visitor to the Blog, then you may remember Kim and Noe. We had a great session a few weeks ago to celebrate their first anniversary & to welcome in their newest addition to their family – their daughter, Ilyanna.  And what a sweet, happy baby! She couldn’t be any cuter!  And since they were in San Diego only for the weekend, visiting from Las Vegas, we decided to invite the extended family along too.  So without further ado…  

Heather & Shane are Engaged!

I finally had another chance to have an Engagement Session in OB! It’s hard to find a couple willing to venture into the . . . let’s just say eclectic neighborhood of Ocean Beach.  It’s not that scary here – really – just a hippy town with it’s own set of charm .  And it turns out that OB is Shane’s old stomping ground and Heather’s favorite beach in SD.  

I had such a great time with them!  What a great couple!  I don’t think they know how to take a bad photo!  See for yourself!

I can’t wait until their wedding day in September!  I will be sure to keep you updated!

Stephanie & Jason’s Engagement 4/11/09

Congratulations you crazy kids! Stephanie & Jason got engaged!  On one romantic night Jason & Stephanie stole away to the beach with a bottle of wine. Jason popped the question. Stephanie said ‘Yes!’  And the best is yet to come.  I can only imagine that their families in Michigan didn’t mind waking up to their fantastic news in the middle of the night! 

Stephanie & Jason – although they are no strangers to each other -were soo nervous for their first official photo shoot as an engaged couple. But they had nothing to fear . . . I promised I wouldn’t bite. And they seemed to relax a bit more.  So we decided to start off with a little romance . . 

And then we started to have a fun!

I can’t wait until their wedding day this fall!  Stay tuned to see more of Stephanie & Jason until then . . .

Deborah’s Baby Bump

Two weeks ago I met up with a very pregnant, Deborah, her husband, Cole and their daughter. This is a beautiful family.  And I just love Deborah’s firey red hair!   She completely reminds me of soap opera actress by the name of Susan Haskell. (Ok so now you know I watch soaps sometimes – guilty)

And it was a good thing we met when we did because I am happy to announce that Deborah had her new baby girl, Graci. I hope I have the opportunity to have a Newborn Session with her!

OB Kite Festival (continued)

Hi Everyone!  Last weekend was the Ocean Beach Kite Festival . . . I was all stressed earlier in the week about the rain that was coming.  but in true SoCal fashion the sun was out & there was a nice breeze for the Kite Parade.  So this was my first  festival in over 4 years & a nice way to break the ice.  I want to say a special thanks to all my helper – Sean for helping with all the framing & the photo booth, Jesse for building the display, Tuan for lending me the tent & of course my Mom for flying all the way out from PA to help me mat prints & display my art – She is always one of my biggest supporters!

The Photo Booth was alot of fun too!  Here are a few from the show – I think this is something that we will be doing again!

OB Kite Festival & Craft Fair 3/7/09

Hi Everyone!  I am happy to announce that I have signed up to be a part of the OB Kite Festival Craft Fair.  The event is next Saturday, March 7th 2009 in Ocean Beach at the Recreation Center and Ocean Beach Elementary School (4726 Santa Monica Avenue at Sunset Cliffs Blvd.)  I will have a booth at the Arts & Crafts Section of this festival.  I think this is a great way to celebrate spring right around the corner.  There is kite making for kids & even a parade.  Along with displaying my fine art for sale, I will also have a photo booth set up.  This is not your ordinary photo booth either.  I recently bought this great chair – and I’d love to see how creative each person can get with it in our booth. All booth images will be available for preview & purchase online.  I can’t wait to see you there!

Here is the time schedule:

Kite Festival: 9 AM to 2 PM 
Craft fair: 9 AM to 4 PM 
Kite making is available anytime between 9 AM and 12:30 PM 
Kite judging: 1:00 PM 
Parade: 2 PM

Lynnette’s Baby Bump

Last weekend I met up with Sean Schofield to photograph Lynnette, her husband, Larry & her baby bump.  Due in about 2 months, she looks fantastic!  And what a fun shoot!  We went to a little spot in Hillcrest, walked acrossed a bridge (a little north of Balboa Park)  & found this beautiful spot with all this lush greenery – thanks to all that rain we had a few weeks ago.  We were able to shoot with all natural light.  What a great spot – and such a fun & sweet  couple.   Can’t wait to meet their little baby boy!

Allison’s Baby Bump 12/20/08

     This was a was a fantastic session!  It was a little chilly when I met up with Allison, her husband, Ian & their little girl Isabella alittle before sunset at Wind & Sea Beach in La Jolla.  This is such a great location that always looks different everytime I’m there.  The sunset was just the right amount of color. And with three very photogenic subjects how could things go wrong. Allison looks fantastic with her due date only a few short weeks away.  And of course Isabella is just as cute as a button- ask her where baby brother, Sean is & she looks right at Allison’s bump. And not to forget dad – who lights up at the mention of his soon -to-be-here baby boy. 

     I feel so fortunate to have been chosen to document this growing family.  Thanks again!  And Congratulations to Allison, Ian & little Isabella on their new bundle of joy – about to arrive in a few weeks.  I can’t wait to photograph little baby Sean! 

 

 

Kim & Noe’s Engagement Session 4/19/08

I recently met Kim & Noe from Las Vegas, NV – here in Ocean Beach for an engagement session.  They are such a nice couple! Unfortunately the weather was a little cold & gloomy but we made the most of it!  Here are a few images I thought I would share with you . . .
