OB Kite Festival (continued)
March 14, 2009
Hi Everyone! Last weekend was the Ocean Beach Kite Festival . . . I was all stressed earlier in the week about the rain that was coming. but in true SoCal fashion the sun was out & there was a nice breeze for the Kite Parade. So this was my first festival in over 4 years & a nice way to break the ice. I want to say a special thanks to all my helper – Sean for helping with all the framing & the photo booth, Jesse for building the display, Tuan for lending me the tent & of course my Mom for flying all the way out from PA to help me mat prints & display my art – She is always one of my biggest supporters!
Here is a photo of our display:
The Photo Booth was alot of fun too! Here are a few from the show – I think this is something that we will be doing again!

Thanks also for all the familiar faces at the festival! I appreciate everyone’s support. And I will keep you all posted when the next festival comes up!

Happy New Year!! Welcome 2009!
January 2, 2009
Happy New Year Everyone!!
I am so excited about this new year! There are so many fantastic new things happening this year I’m not even sure where to begin . . .
OK so first & foremost, if you haven’t already seen – we have a new logo:
We just wanted to freshen up the old one!
And of course what better way to showcase this new logo but to add a fabulous new look to www.laurabscott.com I welcome any feedback about the new site. So feel free to visit & shoot me an email with all your thoughts. Some of you may even notice a few images from your own event!
Also for this year you may notice a small increase in investment packages. Try not to be too alarmed. This small increase will allow us to offer even better service & product options. And speaking of which . . . I would also like to announce our new partnership with Finao Albums (www.finaoonline.com). This is an extremely creative & cutting edge album company with a limitless number of options to truly customize your albums as a one-of-a-kind. This includes magazine style albums & for those who like a more traditional feel – matted albums. And of course we will continue to offer less expensive Asukabook Albums (www.asukabook.com)
So let us know if there is an album you would like us to design for your past or upcoming event!
Also albums design is available for any type of photography session – whether it be an Engagement Session turned into a guest signature book or even a baby bump portrait session that can become part of a collection of your Family Albums.
I’d also like to thank all of my clients new & old for making 2008 a great year! I look forward to updating you with more exciting news & images from 2009! I wish all of you a Happy New Year filled with sweet love, great health & much happiness!
Thanks again!
Laura
PS. Come back & visit us soon . . . I have some new sessions to post including Allison & Ian’s Baby Bump Session & some fun images of my friend Shadow.
Howl-O-Ween
November 6, 2008
I completely forgot about the Ocean Beach Howl-O-Ween Parade. I was convinced by some friends to enter my two puppies into the dog costume parade. So here they are. . . my little furry photo-hams . . .

They even won the “Circle of Life” Award – that buys them free dogcicles at the local ice cream shop.

Also had a nice visit from some family for a few days. Nothing like going to the beach the first day of November! – While everyone back in eastern PA was worried about snow, fog & drizzle ick.

Nice beard A!
Found Puppy

On Easter we were visiting Dog Beach with Shayla. While we were there I saw a small dog from farther away that looked at though it were lost -scanning the faces of the people around. An hour later, when leaving the beach I saw her again wandering the park nearby. She was friendly & came when called. So we asked around – no luck. We felt sorry for this little dog – a sheltie- beagle mix – & have been trying to find her owners. She was clean – had a collar, no tags, no microchip. And so far no one has placed flyers or contacted any local vets, dog washes or shelters. We have been calling her Kaysea – she seems to like it. . . . And has been making herself quite at home here. (hopefully she’ll learn the rules soon) So here she is along with Shayla making her debut on my blog . . .

Taking a trip . . . .
March 15, 2008
I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be away from my desk (for the first time since the holidays!) to travel for a few days. I will be in Las Vegas on March 16th & 17th for WPPI convention. Which for all of you who are not photo-geeks, is a great place for photographers to go for seminars, new technologies & to mingle with our peers. From there I will be heading to Glade Park, Colorado. It is a small mountainous town about a half an hour from Grand Junction, CO. It’s right next to the Colorado National Monument & the Redlands. It should be a beautiful road trip. We have some family friends who live there now . I will be meeting up with my mom & we will have roadtrip back to San Diego together. It should be fun! But from the little research I did – there is no internet access (But don’t be afraid to send one! – there will just be a delay in me getting back to you.) and maybe no cell phone service either. (although I hear I might get lucky by having Verizon). So I might be unreachable for a few days. But I will be back in San Diego by Friday Mar 21st. And have loads of photographs to show you! So stay tuned! -Laura
